INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE... The Final Theatrical Trailer Is Here!

Alien-hybrid jet fighters engage in an intense air battle above the alien mothership in INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE.

Earlier today, Twentieth Century Fox released the final trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence that should be showing on the big screen in front of Captain America: Civil War next month. My apologies to the cast members whose shots in the preview weren't included in the screengrabs below... There's so much awesome footage to take screenshots of that I would've had to post 90+ images in this entry to do justice to the new trailer, which you can view at the very bottom of this entry. June 24 will be here soon enough!

Meme of the Day: That Crazy Deadpool!

Just thought I'd share this meme that I saw on Facebook showing Deadpool poking fun at next month's highly-anticipated film, Captain America: Civil War. If you watched the Ryan Reynolds movie over the last two months, you'll remember that one scene where he makes the observation that Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead are the only students of Professor X who Deadpool kept running into during the flick ("It's almost like the studio couldn't afford another X-Man"). Well— The same applies to Civil War... Where money and the running time limited the amount of superheroes who could show up to fight alongside Captain America or Iron Man in this film. But looking at the comparison between the comic book and movie below, it really is sad that Civil War's epic storyline won't be given full justice on the big screen. At least Spider-Man will make an appearance. That is all.

The ROGUE ONE Teaser Trailer Is Here!

Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) is disguised as an Imperial TIE Fighter pilot in ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY.

"This is a rebellion, isn't it? I rebel." So are the words of Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) as she is enlisted by the Rebel Alliance to steal plans to the Empire's dreaded Death Star in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The highly-anticipated movie's teaser trailer was unveiled earlier this morning...with glimpses of the many characters, Rebel and Imperial alike, who will appear in Disney's first Star Wars spin-off film on December 16. Among these characters are Rebels played by Diego Luna, Donnie Yen and Wen Jiang, and an intimidating Imperial security officer played by The Dark Knight Rises' Ben Mendelsohn. Oscar winner Forest Whitaker portrays a bounty hunter (reportedly), while a droid voiced by Alan Tudyk can be seen running behind Jyn Erso in a few of the trailer shots.

Several Imperial Star Destroyers patrol the area as the dish for the Death Star's superlaser cannon is about to be installed in ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY.

The biggest surprise of this trailer is seeing Rebel Alliance leader Mon Mothma (whose only appearance on the big screen was in Return of the Jedi), who will be portrayed by Genevieve O'Reilly...who played this role in deleted scenes for Revenge of the Sith. Another welcome revelation is that AT-ATs are making an appearance in Rogue One. Judging by the shot of the giant Imperial walkers firing upon Rebels who run towards them, this movie is sure to inspire lots of people to begin playing Star Wars: Battlefront on Playstation 4s that they'll probably purchase after viewing this film. Or not. Anyways, check out these 20 screenshots and watch the trailer itself at the very bottom of this entry!

Video of the Day: The ROGUE ONE Teaser Is Coming!

A new type of Imperial Stormtrooper will appear in this December's ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY.

I'll be at work tomorrow when the teaser trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story airs on ABC TV's Good Morning America, but that won't stop me from trying to find the time (actually, I usually have lots of downtime at the job I do) to watch the new preview on my smartphone. Happy Hump Day!

Images of the Day: It's Rey, Deadpool and Armored Batman! Oh, and BB-8, Too...

Rey and BB-8 from STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS.

Just thought I'd share these drawings that I made over the past week depicting Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Rey and BB-8, the Merc with a Mouth (a.k.a. Deadpool), and Armored Batman from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Coming up tomorrow: Work-in-progress pics of these illustrations that I took while I was drawing them. I captured these images with my Android smartphone since I no longer have a computer scanner. And that scanner was a piece of garbage even if I still had it. Happy Monday!
